Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive to Tarangire National Park, approximately 2.5–3 hours by road. Enter the park and begin your game drive, exploring the Tarangire River, baobab-dotted landscapes and seasonal wildlife areas. You may encounter large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelopes and, with luck, lions and leopards. Tarangire is especially renowned for its elephant population and spectacular baobab scenery.
Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with an afternoon game drive. In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to your public campsite near Lake Manyara/Mto wa Mbu, where you will have dinner and spend the night in tents.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park – Walking Safari
After breakfast, enter Lake Manyara National Park for a morning game drive. Explore the groundwater forest, open woodland and lakeshore areas while looking for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, baboons, monkeys and numerous bird species. Lake Manyara is also famous for its tree-climbing lions and flamingos.
After lunch, enjoy a guided walking safari in an authorized area of Lake Manyara. This gives you a different perspective of the ecosystem, allowing you to observe tracks, plants, insects, birds and smaller wildlife on foot. Guided walking activities in the park require prior arrangement with park authorities.
Later, leave the park and return to your campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara – Arusha National Park – Canoeing – Arusha
After breakfast, drive toward Arusha National Park. On arrival, proceed to the Momella Lakes area for a canoeing experience. Paddle across the calm waters while enjoying views of Mount Meru and observing waterbirds and wildlife around the lakes. Canoeing on the Momella Lakes is one of the distinctive experiences available in Arusha National Park.
After canoeing, enjoy a short game drive through the park, with opportunities to see giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, waterbucks, warthogs and monkeys, depending on the area and conditions. Later, drive back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening, marking the end of your 3-day camping safari.
