This itinerary is designed to give guests two different safari experiences: extensive wildlife viewing in Tarangire, followed by a full-day Ngorongoro Crater safari. Tarangire is especially known for elephants, baobabs, seasonal wildlife concentrations and excellent birdlife. Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park – Tarangire
After breakfast, depart from Arusha and drive towards Tarangire National Park, approximately 2.5–3 hours by road. Enter the park and begin your first game drive through its beautiful savannah landscapes, acacia woodlands and baobab-dotted plains.
Tarangire is famous for its large elephant herds, but you can also encounter buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, warthog and a variety of antelope. Predators such as lions, leopards and hyenas may also be encountered.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing your afternoon game drive. Explore areas around the Tarangire River and seasonal swamps where wildlife can gather, particularly during the dry season.
In the late afternoon, leave the park and drive to your lodge or tented camp in the Tarangire area for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Full-Day Tarangire National Park
Wake up early for breakfast before returning to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive.
The early morning is an excellent time to explore the park while wildlife is active. Follow different game-drive routes in search of elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes and birds. Tarangire is also renowned for its spectacular baobab scenery and more than 550 recorded bird species.
Continue towards the Silale Swamp and Tarangire River areas, depending on seasonal conditions and wildlife movements. These habitats can attract large numbers of elephants, buffaloes and other animals.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, followed by an afternoon game drive. Your guide will choose the best areas according to current wildlife activity, giving you opportunities for photography and close observation while following park regulations.
In the late afternoon, drive back to your accommodation outside the park.

Day 3: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After an early breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and continue to the crater rim. From the viewpoint, enjoy spectacular panoramic views before descending into the crater for your game drive.
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and supports a very high concentration of wildlife. It is particularly renowned for opportunities to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards and black rhinoceros.
Spend the morning exploring the crater floor, looking for lions, hyenas, zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, hippos and other wildlife around the grasslands, wetlands and Lake Magadi.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a permitted location before continuing your final crater game drive. Later, ascend from the crater and begin the journey back to Arusha, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
